What We Left Behind is much more than the tangible items left on sidewalks and city streets.
As the world stopped and the turmoil began, I found myself analyzing the changing and stagnant forms through the lens of my 35mm camera.
Through walks in my hometown of Paterson, NJ I began to experience my surroundings in ways I never had before.
I returned to the same sidewalks, streets and parks I grew up on as I was filled with memories of the past. My connections to these places seemed to alter and shift from points of origins to sanctums of relief from the trauma, change, and loneliness.
While these things brewed inside my being, I refused to capture that same likeness; instead I used my lens to find the subtle, melancholic beauty of the daily effected lives that we and I live.
What We Left Behind is much more than the tangible items left on sidewalks and city streets; rather a shared human experience that is nothing short of transformative.
